Marilyn Manson cancels nine shows after being injured by falling stage prop

Rock singer Marilyn Manson was injured during a concert Saturday night in New York City.

This was one of the first shows on Manson's Heaven Upside Down tour, which launched in Maryland this week and had been scheduled to run through October.

Because of Manson's injury, all of his shows from Monday, Oct. 2 through Saturday, Oct. 14, will be rescheduled for later, according to the Paramount.

'He was probably half way through singing sweet dreams by the Eurythmics and the massive gun display of two pistols behind him toppled on to him.

He wrote: "Well, the Marilyn Manson "Heaven Upside Down" tour is on pause for a minute".

The singer was taken to hospital, according to an agent of the artist, who, however, has not provided further details.

Eyewitness Anthony Biscardi, who caught a video of the incident, told the BBC that Manson was "pretty limp, nearly as though he was unconscious".

Reports say that Manson remained on the stage for a couple of minutes while people tried to help him. He wasn't moving and the venue workers were desperately asking for ice after Manson was taken backstage. Heaven Upside Down is still set for release October 6.

Manson's bandmate Tyler Bates told fans on Instagram that the tour will resume at a later date.
