London blames Russian Federation for the Skripal attack, with United Kingdom interior minister Sajid Javid accusing Moscow of using Britain as a "dumping ground for poison", on Thursday.

More than 100 officers were looking for clues in a race to understand how two local people were exposed to a nerve agent that was produced in the Soviet Union during the Cold War. It also comes as Russia hosts the Fifa World Cup - a month-long global extravaganza in which both the English and Russian football teams have advanced so far. Then a local couple with no obvious connection to Russian Federation or to espionage fell desperately ill and the government said Novichok was to blame.

There are unconfirmed reports that ambulances are being rerouted to other nearby hospitals.

According to a local media report published on Saturday evening, almost a dozen emergency service vehicles arrive in the Muggleton Road area shortly after 6.30pm and one person is taken to hospital.

"We have said they can come and tell us what happened".

Authorities initially believed the pair had taken a bad batch of heroin or crack cocaine.

"Where we have decontaminated sites from the previous exposure to this nerve agent - we are happy that those sites are safe and the public should know that they are safe", he said.

The man and the woman are both in critical condition and are receiving treatment at Salisbury District Hospital, where former Russian double-agent Sergei Skripal and daughter Yulia were treated after they were poisoned by a nerve agent in March in Salisbury. The Kremlin has denied any involvement.

British Home Secretary Sajid Javid Thursday urged Russian Federation to explain the latest incident in Wiltshire, saying the United Kingdom.

"It is completely unacceptable for our people to be either deliberate or accidental targets", Javid told Parliament, adding that it was also unacceptable for British streets or parks to be "dumping grounds for poison".

Officers have pieced together the following timeline of the couple's movements before they fell ill.

Some were staying inside to avoid any risk of contamination, but most were going about their business.

Police are trawling through about 1,300 hours of CCTV footage as part of the investigation and a number of sites have been cordoned off in the area. At first, authorities thought they might have had a bad drug reaction.

British officials said Thursday they believe the latest victims were not deliberately targeted but came into contact with the Novichok used in the Skripal poisoing.
