Daniels was arrested at a Columbus, Ohio strip club and is accused of letting patrons touch her in violation of a state law, her attorney said early Thursday.

Cops say Daniels grabbed an undercover officer's backside while performing in the club, but her lawyer says that she was arrested for allowing a customer to touch her 'in a non sexual manner!'

She is scheduled to be arraigned in Franklin Municipal Court on Friday morning. A court document said because Daniels does not regularly appear at the club, as required under the law for such an offense, the charges were dismissed.

Avenatti slammed the arrest as "a setup & politically motivated".

Stormy Daniels, the porn star at the center of a political storm involving President Trump, has been arrested, her lawyer says. "We will fight all bogus charges", he tweeted, including a hashtag for the word "basta" which is Italian for "enough".

Ohio's state law prohibits anyone who isn't a family member from touching a nude or half nude dancer.

When two detectives and an officer approached the stage, the documents said, Daniels made her way to one of them and began performing in front of her. Daniels "leaned over, grabbed Det".

"They are devoting law enforcement resources to sting operations for this?" "There has to be higher priorities", he wrote.

Stormy Daniels was arrested at an OH strip club overnight for allegedly grabbing the backside of an undercover officer.

Columbus police did not confirm Daniels' arrest to Fox News.

Another officer in the back of the venue went to get backup before arresting Daniels, who was released on bond.

"I deeply apologise to my fans in Columbus", the statement read.

A person who answered the phone at Sirens declined to comment.

Later Thursday morning, Avenatti noted, "My client @StormyDaniels will issue a plea of "Not Guilty" to the three misdemeanor charges". "I am all for following the rules and going by the book, no touching, no this, no that, but also at the same time, in my opinion, I feel like it was completely harmless", Curry said. In 2016, Daniels sued Trump claiming that he never signed the nondisclosure or "hush" agreement, in hopes of making it invalid.

In May, Trump had admitted to knowing about his attorney paying $1,30,000 to Clifford, before the 2016 presidential elections.

The Columbus Dispatch reported that the law, in effect since 2007, is seldom enforced.

Earlier this week, Daniels performed in Washington minutes before President Donald Trump announced his Supreme Court nomination.
