Tuesday forecast: Chance of storms, slightly cooler

Some severe storms are making their way to western CT today, forecasts show.

Get ready for heat, afternoon thunderstorms and possible flooding Tuesday. Torrential downpours, small hail up to an inch in diameter, and gusty wind from 40 to 60 miles per hour are possible. Heavy rain and localized flooding remain the primary concerns.

Plenty of sunshine will be the rule into the weekend with temperatures near or slightly below normal along with comfortable humidity. Storms should push into the city anytime around or after 2pm today and leave sometime after 6pm. At this point, we are not sure if showers will arrive in the morning or if they'll hold off until the afternoon. Wind: SE 5-15. High: 93.
